Caldas Junior School

The education held in the Futures Literacy Project for Basic Education is developed in two stages. Stage I is geared towards teachers’ education career in two perspectives – education-investigation and Futures Literacy – and culminates with the construction of projects by the teachers, going through all the six steps for the construction of projects of Literacy of Futures: Imagine, Define, Gather, Reflect, Analyze, and Act. At this stage, the course is organized around ten learning units, with 20 and 40 hours total in face-to-face and remote classes, in which the goal is to survey the group’s concepts on the challenges of contemporary education, the perceptions on curricular guiding documents on national  and local education. The program approaches: a) Basic Education curricular references: old and new challenges in contemporary teaching; b) Continuing Education, in context, in service and the implementation of the BNCC and the school’s Political Pedagogical Project; c) Dimensions of research-action and the alliances for the education-investigation in educational contexts; d) Emergent topics for Basic Education teaching: 1) Active learning strategies (PBL, inverted classroom, design thinking, research in the classroom, etc); 2) Hybrid teaching; 3) Technologies in education; 4) Computational thinking in the school; 5) Interdisciplinarity; 6) Pedagogical Dialogue Relation; 7) Intergenerational Education; 8) Entrepreneurship and innovation in Basic Education; 9) Education of feeling; and 10) Metacognition; e) Mind models for the conceptions of futures; f) Futures Literacy for Basic Education; g) Futures Literacy  in six steps adapted for Basic Education; h) Reflective seminar: Looking back at the path made: possible synthesis, necessary announcements; i) Beyond the project’s Stage I evaluation and the construction of the methodology and schedule for the involvement of students in Stage II.
